I’ve made a number ofΒ cool sewing purchases lately, and I thoughtΒ my fellow sewing friends might be interested in what’s come into my possession. So I’ve vlogged about it!
I’ve wanted to vlog for a while, but I never was happy with my camera situation. Well, that’s changed (I talk about it in my vid!), and I’m excitedΒ for yet another way to connect with you on the Internets.
In this approximately 23-minute video, you will discover:
β’ Which indie-pattern designer I think would make a great hostage negotiator
β’ How oneΒ T-shirt combines three of myΒ favorite things
β’ Why I decided to start paying for a popular sewing community membership
Not to mention I get candid about the future of Sie macht and the new skills I’m working on to achieve aΒ big goal! (Spoiler: It does not involve a four-year blogging hiatus.)
Please check out the vlog and let me know what you think! Following areΒ links to all the stuff I mention in the video:

Behind the scenes: Another reason I decided to vlog this week
Getting a new camera was a great reason to vlog this week (obvs). But a video wasn’t my first choice for content.Β IΒ actually plannedΒ to blog about making leggings for Project #SewMyStyle.
My plans changed when my mom, who is fighting cancer, wasΒ hospitalized this past weekend. She recently had radiation on her brain, and it’s kicked her butt. I don’t want to share too many details, because it’s my mom’s personal health story and I respect her privacy.
When I watch this vlog, all I can see is how tired I look. I’mΒ long winded anyway, but I think exhaustion made me ramble more than normal. For example, I COULD NOT say the model of my new camera. It took me about two minutes to get it right-ish. That’s why the editing around that part of the vid isn’t great. (Plus YouTube Video Editor isn’t the greatest; I don’t have proper video-editing software yet.)
I have a lot on my mind, and it shows. Please keep my mom and my family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.
I will have a leggings post for your next week!
Thanks so much for sharing. I look forward to watching the vlog (after work today!). I’ll be praying for your mom and you.
Thank you so much, Rebecca! I really, really, really appreciate it.
Vlog on, dear Erin. And “god bedring” to your mom.

Thanks, Hess!
