These patterns caught my eye during a trip to @joa These patterns caught my eye during a trip to @joann_stores. So, natch, I had to share them with you, sewing fam, to get your opinion.
πŸ’™
Pic 1: Our stitching sister @mimigstyle is VP of design, patterns, and brand management at The Big 4. As part of her VP role, she launched @knowmepatterns - patterns from sewists in the online sewing community. One of those sewists is @thecornyrainbow (pictured here). This double-breasted dress pattern is giving me early '90s Easter frock, and I am HERE for it. It's so playful!
πŸ’™
Pic 2: I like that this @burda_style pattern is sized for curvy bodies. πŸ‘ This smart two-piece suit is designed for PONTE, which means it'll be easy to sew AND wear. Stretch blazer, stretch pull-on pants... Heck. Yes. Please. Thank. You. So versatile.
πŸ’™
Pic 3: This pattern grabbed my attention because of the neckline. At first I thought, "Does this make her head look like a present, wrapped in a ribbon?" Then I thought, "Is this a bondage-inspired look? Those straps look... restricting." The sweetheart dip at the bust is cool, but all the straps are too much of a good thing.
πŸ’™
Over to you: Can you talk me into the strap-'splosion? What's your fave of these three patterns?
πŸ’™

Yo, princess seams are the sh!t. For realz. (Imagi Yo, princess seams are the sh!t. For realz. (Imagine hearing that in the voice of Jesse Pinkman. (I recently finished watching "Breaking Bad," sorry not sorry).)
πŸ’™
But seriously, though. If you need to make a fit adjustment to the FRONT of a bodice (shirt, dress, etc.), you want a princess seam.
πŸ’™
A princess seam lets you fiddle with fit EXACTLY where you're running into challenges accommodating body volume (for the front, that's usually tum and ta-tas).
πŸ’™
Did you know that you can transformπŸͺ„ any darts into a princess seam? Yup-a-roo.
πŸ’™
Should you be interested in learning this pattern (witch)craft, hustle over to Die Blog (link in bio). There are illustrations; it's easier than it sounds, I promise!
πŸ’™
Do you have many garments with princess seams in your wardrobe?

Hey look, it's another tuxedo pet who likes to sit Hey look, it's another tuxedo pet who likes to sit on my sewing patterns. Can't let the doggo have all the fun, can you, Mrs. Mimi Whiskers?
πŸ’™
Believe it or not, Mimi has a sewing history.
πŸ’™
Pic 2: Mimi provides direction at the sewing machine.
πŸ’™
Pic 3: Mimi models a piece of fabric she snatched from my scrap pile. She literally dragged it around the house and brought it to me to play fetch with. (BTW I did take the scarf off her post photo, because it was a choking hazard. πŸ™€)
πŸ’™
Pic 4: Mimi is not amused by the Mimi-clone pillow I sewed. I mean, it looks EXACTLY like her. (I found the pillow pattern on Etsy.)
πŸ’™
Which pet supervises your sewing practice?

Yes, you CAN build the sewing table of your dreams Yes, you CAN build the sewing table of your dreams! πŸ”¨
πŸ’™
There are many plans (free and paid) out there on the interwebs for building your own sewing table.
πŸ’™
This lil' checklist can help you evaluate those table options so you get the right one for your unique sewing practice. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
πŸ’™
Aaannnddd... should you want even more insight on choosing a plan for a DIY sewing table, you're invited to La Blog (link in bio) to check out the full article: "Sewing Table DIY: How to Choose the Right Plan."
πŸ’™
Would you dare to build a sewing table? Or does your drive to make stop at sewing fab clothes? (No shade if it does - I didn't make my own sewing table, and I don't regret my decision.)

When was the last time you went to @joann_stores t When was the last time you went to @joann_stores to just have a wander?
πŸ’™
I had a goal-less wander around Joann recently, and I wanted to share with you some fabric that caught my eye.
πŸ’™
Pic 1: A faux orange sherpa situation. This rainbow plaid looks SO MUCH LIKE @robertkaufman Mammoth flannel in the Durango colorway (which I know because I sewed a dress in it). This fabric had a high squish factor.
πŸ’™
Pic 2: Mushroom flannel. Lots of mushrooms at JA overall. I love this print and wanted to buy a couple of yards only for the purpose of sewing pajama pants. I'm basic.
πŸ’™
Pic 3: Moth flannel. This captured my attention because it reminded me of a @tulapink print. (In case you don't know Tula Pink designs fabric primarily for quilting.) Anyhoo, check out Pink's "De La Luna" collection to see the moth-y-ness.
πŸ’™
Which fabric is your fave? Have you spotted anything cool at Joann lately?
